Share, learn, laugh….get inspired. Here is an opportunity for you to let everyone know what you are doing, where you are doing it, and how much you are enjoying it. Jot down some of your favourite experiences to share with everyone. Add a picture to go with the story if you have one. You can email to isabelle@contactsouthsimcoe.ca your information in Microsoft Word, Adobe, or Plain Text. Your story could get published in our e-bulletin!

Why I Volunteer

Some people volunteer because a certain amount of volunteer hours are required to graduate from high school. Some people volunteer because they enjoy helping people. Some people volunteer because it makes them look good in front of other people. There are many factors that motivate people to volunteer . . .

Being a Big Brother!

I was asked to write a note about my recent experience as a volunteer. Last winter I became a Big Brother in the Alliston area. I had seen the sign on the hill outside of Cookstown for many years and always thought that was a noble cause . . .

Being a Big Sister!

Volunteering had already become a part of my life but the most rewarding activity had just started. I had become a Big Sister! I can proudly say that our match of Little Sister and Big Sister is going strong to this day . . .

Volunteering in the Community

Some people may describe volunteering as a drug, a stimulant that gives great satisfaction and joy as we help others. Volunteering improves our communities and empowers us to better mental health . . .

Being a Board Member!

Since I was 13 years old, I have always volunteered at least a few hours per week.  I started to volunteer because I was motivated to help others and could not afford to donate money . . .

The John Howard Society of Simcoe & Muskoka

With the population boom in Simcoe County, the expansion of new schools, youth and the new Youth Criminal Justice Act, comes a community responsibility to deal with the many issues that arise in relation to our citizens . . .
